Mennonite Romance Novel

April 2010

At the time I'm writing (or typing) this, THE NARROW PATH will be on the bookshelves in less than a month.

If you live in the Vancouver  BC area, I'm doing a few booksignings the first one at:
GATEWAY CHRISTIAN BOOKS,
MAPLE RIDGE, BC
Saturday May 8, 1:00-3:00 pm

As more come closer, I'll post those as well, come back to check for dates and locations.

In the meantime, the early reviews are starting to appear online, as well as a few interviews. I've got some links here for you, just click on "LINKS" on the blue index bar above this. I also have some links to a few reviews on my personal webpage - click here, on www.gailsattler.com/reviews.html

Or you can have some fun. I invite you to put your own comments here, on this website. click on "REVIEWS" on the blue bar that you see, and share your opinion, I'd love to hear from you. Or if you don't want to say anything about the book, and just leave a comment, you've invited to click on the red text and visit my guestbook.

I hope to see or cyber-see you soon!

February 2010

Ah, February, the month of Valentines and love. Of course, being a romance author, February is special. Not that I decorate my house with hearts and flowers like we do with bright colors and snowflakes at Christmastime, but it's still special.

At the time I'm writing this, the Advance Reader Copies of The Narrow Path are being distributed to reviewers and wholesale-level buyeres, meaning the behind-the-scenes activity of a novel is at a high pitch. It's very exciting to see mentions of The Narrow Path spring up, and it's great to see that the advance reviewers are enjoying the book.

If you want to see some of it, I do have the first chapter posted on this website, but the Marketing Geniuses of Abingdon Press have design a flip-book with a larger  image of the cover, and the first three chapters. Yes, I said that right. THREE chapters! If you want to see more, here's a link. Click here to see the FLIP BOOKof the first three chapters of The Narrow Path. When it comes up, you'll see it easier if you hit "full screen" at the top left before you start reading.

Enjoy, and God bless!

January 2010

I dont' know where November and December went, but it seems to have buried me. But no matter, the holiday season is through, and even though the tree isn't packed up yet, the rush is over and the turkey is gone.

In order to move forward with the new year, I've updated my main website at www.gailsattler.com, and I've also started a new blog.

I invite you to check it out, and even sign up to be a follower. I'm new at blogging, so if anyone has any ideas or suggestions, I invite your participation. So don't be shy with posts or comments, and let's all get to know each other a little better. I'll be following a number of regular topics, but don't be shy with a suggestion or question either. It's all to have fun and share.

it's at www.gailsattler.blogspot.com

I hope to see you there!

God bless!

September 2009

May 2010 isn't quite as far away as it used to be. Everything is in process, the bookmarks are printed and I hear they are really nice, except I haven't seen them yet. It's time to get into the fine-tuning now, which of course means the edits. Actually I enjoy the process because when something is so close to your heart, you don't see it quite the way someone else does. I always think that the editing process is a partnership to dig down and make a book the best it can be. It's exciting to see everything fall into place one step at a time, and I learn a little more every time it happens.

In the meantime, it's also time to start working on some new ideas, and that's always fun, too.

Until next time!

God bless!

August, 2009

It has begun. I've had bookmarks designed, now the process to get them printed. That's the start. I'll also be leaving my husband and sons (and dogs) home in the near future to go to my annual writers' conference - this year it's in Denver. Every time I go to another writing event such as this, I have to shake my head and think of all the places I've been, and not seen anything significant except for the airport and hotel. When I was in Minneapolis, I did see the Mall Of America, but since I'm not a shopper, the only thing I enjoyed in the mall, besides the booksigning event, was the aquarium. Oh, have I got pictures, and videos! Thank you to Barbour Publishing for that! When I go to these really awesome places, I always end up spending all my time at the hotel with my author buddies, as my husband calls them. Which is way more fun than signtseeing, anyway. I can always get pictures from out the plane window. If I get a window seat. If I fly during daylight hours.

Hmm.... I don't think I'll go there. It was a nice thought, anyway.

Next time!

God bless!

July, 2009

A year from now, The Narrow Path will be on the shelves. But as far as marketing goes, that only part of the process. Until then, there is a lot of promo work to be done. when I first started writing, an author simply had to write the book. But now, with the internet in almost every home, authors are doing all sorts of things to create a buzz long before the book is ready for sale. Already, I'm starting to work on a book trailer, which I understand takes many many hours, for a one minute clip. Please keep coming back to check on my progress, and if you have a comment or idea, please feel free to contact me. I love hearing from readers.

God bless!
